HOME!

We're home!

Now that we have reliable Internet access, we'll have tons of updates. Amanda's been writing in her journal, so we'll get it all copied over this weekend. (some tonight, but maybe not all)

What a great trip!

Day 2, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, AND Florida

Note from Amanda's Dad: We're behind with the posting, because every day we leave the hotel before 8AM, and don't usually get back until 10PM. We also didn't have Internet access over the weekend, so we have lots of catchup to do.

OK, so now we're in Kentucky. We are on the road and it is awesome. Because there are layers of rocks and some of them are huge and some are small. But there are some with water coming down and it is awesome. You can see all the different layers and they are all different colors. I just thought it was cool because me and my class learned about it in science.

I am having so much fun when I am blogging because I et to talk about new stuff. I have to tell you that I have never been to any other states except for Ohio and of course Michigan. OK, I've taken a lot of pictures, but I think that's good because you'll be able to see what's going on. Here are some hills filled with trees, and big valleys too.

(Amanda's Dad notes that the pictures above were taken at the Cumberland Gap, which give a beautiful view of 3 states at the same time: Kentucky, Virginia, and Tennessee)

We made it to Tennessee!

And we stopped at Long John Silver's for lunch.

Now we are in Georgia and there is a ton of huge buildings. We were on a 14 lane highway too. It was big.

We made it to Florida today too, but we'll make a separate post about that. Stay tuned!

No access

We haven 't forgotten to update, but we don't have Internet access until Sunday. We'll make sure to update from Orlando when we get there. The one word update? HOT! (Actually it's not that bad, but definitely not jacket weather)

Day 1, Ohio

OK, well I'm on my way to Ohio right now, and it is pouring. I know, I know, I'm still in Indian River, but I just couldn't wait.
...
Now it is only sprinkling, and we are on the road. This is so exciting that it feels like a dream. And there are so many trees near the road. And these are my sisters:

Lydia (the second picture) is watching TV. The headphones are for the sound so it's not noisy. Well, this trip is I guess fun so far, because I get to do blog stuff. Right now my sisters are watching "Hannah Montana."
...
OK, now we just got done eating at McDonalds. And we had ice cream. We are still on our way to Ohio. It's starting to get a little boring because if feels like a whole day. But it's only been a couple hours. But tomorrow when we are on our way to Georgia, it is going to take forever. But it's OK because the next day we are going to be in Florida. We are still on our way to our hotel in Ohio.
...Oh, sorry. I was getting bored so I took a picture of my feet.
...
We are almost in Ohio! Now we're in Ohio (of course you know because of the sign.) My sisters are excited because we're in Ohio. I am excited that we are going to Florida for the first time. OK, we are in Ohio but not close to the hotel.
That was a mosque, and that's where Muslim people go to worship. Isn't it pretty? I think it is. Sorry the camera doesn't zoom, so it's kinda small.

That's all the pictures I took on the first day. We got to the hotel, and went swimming in the pool, but then it was late so we had to go to bed. More tomorrow!

The Back Seat Bunch

We accidentally left the journal in the van this evening, so tomorrow will have to be a double-post. We want to give you an update, however, so here are my sisters, watching TV.

More tomorrow,
Amanda

First Post!

We're leaving today!!!

Amanda will be taking pictures, and writing in her journal every day. In the evenings, when we get to our hotel room, we'll upload her stuff. Stay tuned, and leave her comments & questions right here.

(PS: This is her Dad. I'll be helping her update.)
